The revamped Island Hills Station Walking Track has a few differences to its predecessor the Hurunui High Country Track. The 2020 version includes a 20 minute 4 wheel drive farm tour as you hitch a ride to the start point of day one. The walkers then have an opportunity for a team photo at a really neat location right at the start of the trail. The new day one takes guests way out into the back blocks of the farm further than ever before, with fantastic bush walking into the upper Mandamus Valley, breaking out onto the open tops where the mountain views are simply stunning. Its well worth the walk.
