You arrive in your vehicle at Island Hills Station and stay in the the shearer’s quarters which have been converted to provide rooms with two single beds in each. There is also a bunk room available. You just need your own sleeping bag.
There is a hot shower and a fully equipped kitchen with an oven, microwave, BBQ and fridge.
Open Plan Lodge
Valley Camp
The Valley Camp is a large open plan lodge, with interior curtains for added privacy and a fully equipped kitchen, gas cooktop facilities, BBQ, hot shower and a small gas fridge/freezer for perishable items.
Pioneers Hut
Bush Hut
Set in native bush forest, the Bush Hut was built in 1932 has all the characteristics of early pioneering times with a few modern facilities such as gas cook tops, BBQ, small fridge/freezer and a hot shower. It has bunks and semi-permanent tents situated behind the hut with amazing views of the mountains.
Accommodation Notes
The beds in each accommodation are fitted with comfortable high grade mattresses, bedding protectors and pillows, with your own daily fresh pillow case. All you need is a sleeping bag.
All kitchens are fully equipped with:
Gas cookers, BBQ’s, fridges, cutlery, plates, pots, pans, coffee plungers, tea towels, items for washing up and lots more. You need nothing but your food. The Cook House also has an electric oven and microwave.
We provide pack transfers each day to your next accommodation destination and back to the car park on your final day. We are limited to one pack of 20kg or less per person and one chilli-bin per group. You need to bring all of your food, but there is no need to bring any cooking or dining equipment.
